Best Beds for rabbits

Rabbits love to relax just as much as they love to run around. Despite being extremely furry and shedding, they may in the winter months want a bed to keep warmer or even just feel safe and secure in. A few factors come into play when it comes to getting your rabbit a bed, and we’ve broken them down into these categories: Comfort, Price, Quality & How good they look.

Finding the Right Rabbit Bed – If you want to spoil your rabbit as we do, you’ll know there are plenty of beds out there that cater to other animals but not specifically to rabbits. This post will cover the best six rabbit beds our rabbit has tried that they have slept on, ripped up, and even urinated on.

A Quick Comparison of Our Favorites in 2023

The 5 Best Rabbit Beds

1. Baby Bassinet Mattress

Our pick for the best overall rabbit bed is the Baby Bassinet Mattress. It is designed for small children but works incredibly well for your spoilt rabbit if you have space. We chose this product as our #1 because it’s the only one which offers sufficient padding and works for rabbits of all sizes, from miniature lops to gigantic breeds.

This rabbit bed is a fantastic choice due to its pricing, which is a lot cheaper than other brands and than we expected elsewhere, along with being big enough to fit two smaller rabbits on it.

The only downside we find is if your rabbit is not neutered, spayed, or has spring fever, this can become a big mess of foam which can be a pain to clean up.

  • Great Price
  • Good enough for most rabbit sizes
  • Includes a non-skid bottom so it won’t move

  • Not great build quality
  • Perfect for Bunstruction

2. AmazonBasics Round Pet Bed

AmazonBasics Pet Bed Review

The AmazonBasics Round Pet Bed is a cozy and comfortable bed for pets of all sizes. It features a soft and plush outer fabric and a cushioned center that provides support and comfort for your furry friend.

Due to the soft walls, this may not be a good choice for rabbits with mobility issues or head tilt, we recommend getting a flat surface bed instead

Our rabbit Link doesn’t like this bed, but my prior rabbits have used them in the past when placed in a common corner.

Overall, the AmazonBasics Round Pet Bed is a great choice for pet owners who want a comfortable and durable bed for their furry friend. It’s affordable, versatile, and easy to maintain, making it a great value for the price. If you’re in the market for a new pet bed, this one is definitely worth considering.

“Very surprised by this. Cost wise was budget, and the bed is super soft and well padded. My fur baby is quite fussy but took to the bed immediately and practically hasn’t left it since!”

“This looked a bit small for my cat, but she loved it so much that I’ve since bought a second one for elsewhere in the house.”

“Very cozy and warm, I bought it second time for the second dod to keep it in the car.”

Round Warming Cat Bed

Cat bed for rabbits

This used to be a favourite in the household but has since changed after washing it unfortunately. It’s not only got a soft side shell but the cushion within can be taken out for ease and comfort (We rest gently on our rabbits side when he’s stressed).

You’ll find plenty of these online so definitely do look around, we got ours inside a bargain store.

IKEA Duktig Doll Bed

Rabbit Doll Bed

These are all the rage but we had to get rid of ours due to our rabbit thinking he was too big for it and refusing to lay on it central.

Saying that, it’s a great little bed to put in their running space or in a room you know they’re in a lot.

It is however a bit of a gimmick and mostly for aesthetics.

Rosewood Snuggle Hooded Bed

This bed is mostly for younger smaller rabbits, it’s a great little bed but not suitable for teen rabbits upwards. We went with this simply because of the brand Rosewood and I’d say it’s definitely worth every penny.

We now use it as a doorstop, so it’s not entirely wasted!

Grass Mats

Grass mats are great!

These aren’t explicitly beds, but they are great for your rabbit to not only lay on but also chew, scratch and play with! We used to pair these together using seagrass which is great for making one big grass mat.

You can find these on bulk on amazon, but you should find them in most pet stores and even your closes bargain store.
